On Sunday 24th November, the Shoreham and Main Ridge brigades jointly ran a training session based on the learnings of a shed fire in Shoreham Road at 1 am on the 19th February, 2021.

About eight firefighters from each brigade did a walk-through of the dangers, risks, exposures, access to available/extra resources required and techniques used to address this particular fire. This included identifying and accessing the nearest water supply away from reticulated water mains.
Afterwards, the teams did refresher training on Breathing Apparatus with on-site facilities provided by the CFA Bangholme training Campus. They visited and refreshed their knowledge of the key hydrant types and their locations in Shoreham and Pt Leo.

Our thanks go to the Main Ridge Brigade for again joining our training sessions and bringing different skills and knowledge to share. We also thank Ross, the owner of the property for hosting us and, with his neighbours, for providing the photos from the night and its aftermath.
