Following the recent training with Brigades across the Peninsula on the 20th November, the Shoreham Brigade had a training session run by Craig Aiton and Troy Wilding on the 4th December from 9am till noon.
It was specifically targeted at the use of the foam system and various attachments on the new tanker which our old tanker didn’t have.
We also ran an exercise of “boosting” from a hydrant to two tankers in series. This enabled the brigade members to become more familiar with the valves and controls to maintain appropriate pressures in and out of each tanker ensuring optimum safety and ensuring the various delivery outlets to fight fires are at optimum levels.
A very successful day with over half of the Shoreham brigade members in attendance. A special thanks to the Red Hill Brigade who provided one of their tankers and a crew to help us properly learn the procedures.
